No difference in HDTV?

I have virgin HD, routed through a Pioneer AV receiver into a Panasonic Plasma (42" 1080p).

There doesn't seem to be any difference in normal channels and the HD ones.

Any ideas as to why?

What kind of wires do you have between the VirginHD box and the receiver? What kind of wire do you have going from the receiver to the TV?

If you are not using HDMI cables for both -chances are you have down-converted the HD signal to standard def.

Try running HDMI straight from the Virgin HD box to the TV. Make sure the box is setup to output HD.

Then (and this is important) Wait until tonight when the major network shows are on and toggle between the standard-def and HD version of the channels. Often during the day the HD channels only show older standard-def shows that are poorly up-converted. Even channels like Food Network HD have up-converted shows rather than shows that were mastered in HD.

    Hope this helps.
