Fred, and Carl, don't you think we should be pragmatic about this. Religion, whether you believe or not, is out there, as part of nearly every culture.

All of the above. The more kids know about religions (and we're talking _all_ religions here, not just one that happens to be common in whatever country you happen to be in), the better prepared they are to make informed decisions.
EDIT: @Carl Pierce: Religion is very real. It's just what the religious believe in that isn't. But kids are still going to be faced with religious people, and it might be helpful to help them understand what these people believe and why.

Some sort of basic theological course would be good I think, mainly just to reduce misconceptions and misunderstandings around major religions. If people have a more open and well informed view of religions then educational areas will be much more supportive of intellectual discussion/debate regarding those things! Can't be a bad thing in my opinion.

Theology. There is only one theology although different religions have different interpretations of it. If our present society had some knowledge of Theology, perhaps they'd stop making so many stupid assumptions about God and religion - and that applies to religious fundamentalists as much as it does to atheists.

Nothing about religion should be taught in schools. A lot of kids can't even grasp simple grammar in there teens.

Those all sound interesting. I think there should be some courses in ancient languages too, especially Aramaic.

Origins, history, demographics and psychology are the one's I'd include, if I had to take the class at all.
