When entering an agreement with someone or a company, what does ("Licensee" and the "Parties") mean?

This is an unlimited license instrumental agreement between a music production company and an artist. Mainly I want to know the Parties part..Who falls under parties? Is it "anyone whom the artist allows to use the beat while in the artists possession?

If it is not clear what "Parties" means in the context of the agreement, then add the definition of "parties" as part of the agreement. Add a term that states something like, "parties includes anyonw whom the artist allows to use the beat while in the artists possession."

It is much better to have all terms mutually defined at the time you make the agreement than to have a judge define the terms after a contractual dispute arises.

Unless otherwise defined in the agreement, the term "Parties" refers to the persons or entities that execute the agreement. Nobody else. However, you should check the definition. Many agreements have definitions of terms -- particularly terms that are capitalized in the agreement. The same with the term "Licensee." In a license agreement, the term "Licensee" is always defined. You will find the definition when you read the agreement.
