Why does powering the router on or off cause my computer to crash?

It's a Win 7 machine, and the crash dump seems to refer to a memory location that cannot be accessed. I would have expected Windows to anticipate and allow a router to be powered on or off while the system is running. If the PC is in sleep mode, there is no problem.

@Timothy That was too easy! Yes, it looks like the culprit was Google Talk, my email notifier.

    Maybe you have a virus or some program that relies on a constant connection to the internet?
