Why do religious people feel the need to thumb down ANY answers they don't agree with? I restrain from upsett?

upsetting people but they don't even answer the question or give their own answer? To me this seems quite biased and not very open or tolerant. I was brought up as a christian, but no longer believe, but I have kept some moral guidelines from it, and intolerance is definitely not what I was taught. What's wrong with people these days?

I think this sort of behaviour isdown to emotional immaturity and an inability to see another persons point of view.

You should realize that it's not just atheists that get thumbs down. I am a Christian and most of my answers get thumbs down. One day every question I answered received 8 thumbs down..could someone be lame enough to have eight accounts?

specific, I do...would not anybody? i do no longer care how "thorough" or "informative" an answer seems to be, if i think of that person is faulty, i'm in all probability going to thumb them down. I have no thought why somebody might thumbs up an answer that they think of is faulty or thumbs down an answer they think of is nice. If somebody does try this, they're in all probability no longer fidgeting with an entire deck or maybe they do purely no longer understand what the two symbols advise. for people who might desire to be caught up: Thumbs up many times ability "approval" and thumbs down many times ability "disapproval."

You assume that every thumbs down is by the person you think it is.

When yahoo comes up with a way to tell exactly who thumbed down then you can complain.

I don't think thumbs down in intolerant.

Also, I don't think it's ONLY religious people that give a thumbs down to something they disagree with.

  • As seen from the "cheese & whine" answer, Christians are some of the most intolerant & narrow minded people going so it's no surprise that they thumb down.

Because people are afraid of things they do not understand. Unfortunately few organized religions leave room for one to think for themselves or deviate from their force-fed thought patterns. For that truly is the ultimate "SIN". Christians more readily accept a murderer who claims to have found religion than someone who questions it. It's like making friends via mutual enemies. It is VERY sad.

because they can and they want to just like non-religious people thumb down answers based on faith duhhh....

  • Blame the churches trying to control people. They are taught that they are right no matter what. It's human nature to follow what your raised to follow.

So yes, people are raised to be stupid. Sad, isn't it?
