Are you searching for 2 notebooks at $800 finished, or $800 each and each? once you're looking around the $800 mark for one laptop, a first rate suggestion(if a sprint older) would properly be the Asus G73. i stumbled on mine for $850 used, and for the value that's a well-known, bigger-end gaming laptop. bear in strategies that that's a bigger 17.3" length which would be a sprint complicated to take around, and the battery realistically lasts some million.5-2 hours, max. The G73 comes with the two an FHD(1920x1080) or an HD+(1600x900) reveal, has a backlit keyboard, and could incorporate WIn7 known. on the overall performance end you get a center i7 720QM no longer less than, that's a quad-middle CPU with a superb style of potential for many projects. Video is dealt with via an ATI Mobility Radeon HD5870 or an NVidia GTX460M, based n the style; those have been most of the main efficient laptop GPUs obtainable around a year in the past and could take care of severe gaming even now; the HD5870 and GTX460M are approximately equivalent in maximum respects. this would be my first selection if I have been to be doing heavy gaming/video enhancing paintings on a single, universal device. It additionally seems tremendously low-key whilst in comparison with different intense-end gaming rigs so it won't be as lots of a theft magnet. once you're searching for 2 notebooks to do a similar paintings interior of that funds, that's going to be kinda troublesome to do. yet another stable suggestion would properly be 2 ThinkPad T400/T500 structures with switchable photographs, yet you may desire to be careful and do your examine to ascertain which you get one with the discrete ATI photographs card. The T400 would be greater transportable, and the T500 would be heavier and better(15.4"vs 14.a million"), yet would have greater effective gaming potential(ATI HD3650 vs HD3470). i stumbled on my T500 for around $500 approximately 9 months in the past, nevertheless looking one with a discrete GPU is kinda troublesome.
