Can anyone give me some tips on how to paint...?
...my grandsons bedroom walls to look like it's under the ocean? We want to do two walls with underwater creatures like starfish, clown fish, sharks, jelly fish, sea turtles and whales. We have several shades of blues and greens but I've been looking for some information on techniques or tools to use to make it look more realistic. I've gone to DIY and HGTV with no luck. Any ideas out there? My grandson is gonna love it!

If you're going all the way to the top of the wall , start there with a sky blue; paint down about 4 feet
With a damp (wet, but not dripping.not dripping) load the sponge with white paint. Wring it somewhat and free-style a few clouds into your sky. While you're up on the ladder, Gramma, add a few sea gull with some simple strokes of dark grey. OK, now for the water:
In the area that will be "under the sea", Do a wash of paint. Start near the bottom. create an ocean floor of sand with a dark beige. Overlap the "sand" with a darkish blue by wetting the sea sponge, wring it out so it's not dripping, dip it into the paint, squeeze it and "wash" over a couple inches of the sand and about 6 inches up the wall. Do the next 6-7 inches by doing the same thing with a turquoise color. Overlap into the dark blue, then move up. Next layer: a little more green mixed with the turquoise. repeat the procedure. At this point, you are about 3 or so feet up the wall. Are you taking the sea level all the way up? Add a little white to the greenish-turqouisecolor, and take it to the horizon. With white/grey paint on a brush, tap (dot, dot, dot) a fairly
straight line the full width of the wall. Wipe the brush dry (do not wet the brush with paint. Set the brush bristles into your white line of still wet paint, and brush up in a backwards"C" motion to form a few surface waves. Fill the sea with as many creatures as you like. A few streamers of kelp, too.
He is going to LOVE you!
Now back to the floor, Using a mix of pink/orange, free-hand some coral and a few sea stars in the sandy ocean floor. Fishes come in any and many colors. Add black stripes to a few yellow fish. Want an eel? grey.
