Lump on my Black lab/ rottie mix.?

Petting my dog today i notices a rather large lump under her skin ontop of her ribs. This is not a fatty tumor because she gets those and they are always visible lumps on her skin. This isnt visible. its just kinda hard. Doesnt seem to be causing her pain. SHe is a 10 yr old Black lab/rottie mix

Skin lumps are very common in dogs. There are a whole range of possible scenarios that can present as a lump on the skin, including, insect bites and stings, abscesses, hematomas, cysts, soft tissue swelling following trauma and benign or malignant tumors. Tumors are probably the most common of these, but two thirds of them are benign and therefore merely cosmetic.

Best to have your vet check it out to be safe.

Although j* is probably right it could be a couple different things, but like j* said it's probably a cyst. You might want to go to a vet because my dog Duke died in June, same breed as your dog and it was a cyst.
