what does this warning light mean?
toyota lucida, the light is orange, second from left, under speedo, looks a bit like a cage, comes on occasionally, what does it mean? how serious is it? can't afford to get it fixed for a couple of weeks but need to use the car for about 100 mles a day for work, me days, wife nights..
i get the picures of engines, oil cans, headlights, water level etc, but what is this cage meant to be?
could also be described as a roman temple?

I am a certified mechanic. You do not give nearly enough information. Can you post a photo of the light? Don't you have an owner's manual? You fail to say what year? I've found some photos of the dash warning lights on the lucida and none appear as what you're describing. If it's one of the ones' that I've seen a photo of then its the radiator warning lamp. Check water level when engine is cold, preferbably before the car is driven such as early in morning or following about a three hour break. Check water level, you should have water container under hood with a clear marking of preferred water level for vehicle operation. If water level is Okay then it could be a bad sensor or your water pump might be bad. Either way it's an indication of overheating. I would definitely not recommend driving vehicle unless it's checked by a professional. Don't you have a shop where you normally bring vehicle to? Even a dealership could tell you exactly what it is and whether or not you can drive and would not, Or should not (ethically), charge you if you explain that you will bring vehicle in for repairs. At least they should be able to give you a good indication as to what the warning lamp is warning about. Get the required info for me and I can give you an exact and accurate answer. Send me an email with your phone # and I'll call you if you have more questions or just send me more info by email. Hope that helps.
