What operating system to install on my Via C3 computer?
I have a mini-pc I built some years ago with a mini-itx motherboard. It has a Via C3 processor @ 800mhz (its pretty much the equivalent of a Pentium 3 @ 500mhz), with 512mb ram. Ubuntu 10.04 is incredibly slow on it and Windows XP isn't any better. Anyone have any suggestions for an OS that will run quickly on this PC?

i had no issues running xp pro on a c3 but i use 1gb ram and shut of the virtual ram as well as load the kernle to ram. this speeds things up a bit.
