Do the trains through the Euro tunnel run through the night during winter or not?

We checked online and it said trains run all night but when we came from Calais to Folkestone they told us to go back last train is at 9.20pm. Does anyone know if that is correct?

They do run all night, in both directions I've just checked.

There are departures from Folkestone at 01.23, 03.27 and 05.48, so it's roughly a 2-hourly service through the early hours.

Depends on what type of trains you mean.

Euro Tunnel trains carrying either trucks or cars run 24/7 although the service may be reduced at night time.

Eurostar passenger trains also run a service but you would need to check their website for timetables.

Freight trains carrying general cargo also run through the tunnel again mainly at night

There are certain nights in the year when the tunnel is closed for maintenance reducing all services even more.

    Hi Anna,

I believe the trains run all night for freight - commercial goods.

I guess passnegers stop travelling at they time stated - bc most ppl are at home ?

Passenger trains through the Channel Tunnel do not run overnight.

Not aware of any significant rail freight traffic between England and France other than trains carrying people's cars
