EFC of 0 will I get money?

I just did my fafsa, and got an efc of 0. Now is there a chance that I will still get money despite applying so late? I am taking 8 credits and the cost of the college is about 1000$ a semester.

With an efc of 0, you should qualify for the maximum Pell grant. The federal deadline for the 2010-2011 fafsa isn't until June 30, 2011 - so you haven't applied too late. It's very likely that you have missed your state deadline because the majority occurred in March of 2010; however, you are still eligible for federal grants and loans. You may not receive the money this semester because of applying so late... financial aid can take months to get processed - it just depends on how quickly it all goes through. You will still receive your aid for this semester though, even if it doesn't come through until next semester.

With 0 you'll get the most of the pell grant. However, since your only taking 8 credits you wont qualify for full-time financial aid (most likely you'll only qualify for 2775 which then gets cut in half for each semester). Your most likely missed state deadlines though so apply early next year (like in January).
