If I work on abs only, will my runing suffer?

I have a friend who told me that if you work on only your abs, you will become a terrible runner because your body weight is off center. Is this true, and if it is, what are some good back exercises I can do at home?

    Don't do just abs... That's like putting sweet interior into a car that looks like **** on the outside.

    Cardio lets the abs show!

    I believe running could help your running. Surely that makes sense.

    look up 5 min exersise on youtube its on done using your couch
