Any free .avi converter to .mp4 or .mov ?

Hi, I have a few movies on my macbook, and I wish to put them on my iTouch Second gen. The problem is that i've heard that .avi movie files cannot be put on a iPod Touch?!

Is there any FREE software to swiftly and easily convert the files over!?

Please ( i don't mind if they are 14 day free trials) because i've got my movie collection, and i wont be acquiring any more for a while!!

    Yes there are probably thousands of free converters like that. I suggest Format Factory, or if you want one thats online, no download needed, i suggest http://www.mediaconverter.org/ Good Luck, Hope This Helps!
