lexus GS300 airbag light?

The airbag light is always on these days after the battery went flat during the summer and now that the NCT is due up I'm worried this might cause it to fail the test.

Any one else have this prob or know off them

    It can only be reset by use of a Lexus diagnostic computer and only then if the fault has been fixed.

    In the UK the airbag system is not covered by the MOT but not sure if the Irish NCT needs it working - you could ask at a testing centre?

    Hi kerryman

    i have toyota land cruiser that the air bag light comes on intermittently and the garage wants it in for a whole day to find the fault.

    but advised it is safe to drive.

    i would guess this is something peculiar to both makes as they are really just that.

    a mate has a lexus version of the land cruiser and he has taken spares from a land cruiser and fitted them to a lexus.. the leveller units on the rear suspension.

    try this disconnect the battery and leave it unhooked (negative only) for 30 minutes and see if it resets if there is no error it will stay off if it comes back you need to have it serviced

    do this at least a week before your test so it can be in a ready status
