What is the RMS wattage in a 2001 cavalier monsoon rear subwoofer?
Crutchfield.com told me that my 2001 cavalier could possibly have the monsoon sound system in it. On my car's information sheet it says it comes with a "premium sound system". I was wondering if this was the monsoon and what the RMS output is for the subwoofers.

Last I heard, RMS (RootMeanSquared) was .707 of the peak voltage or 1.414 of the peak to peak voltage which results in a voltage value and not wattage value. If you need to know the max wattage of your speakers ever think of looking on the speaker itself for the value?
PS A speaker may be rated in Ohms, in which case I squared R would give you a power rating but you'd need to know how much current flows through the speakers. Of course you probably already know the power rating of your speakers so why ask?
