Do you use credit cards? (WHY)?

Why do you pay the banks to spend money you don't have?

Why not save money and spend it when you have enough?

There is a huge difference between using credit cards and running up debt. Credit cards are a short term convenience and are not meant for long term financing.

I use my credit cards for everything. I don't have to carry cash or a check book or use a debit card (hate debit cards). When the statements come, I pay the balance in full every month. Since my cards have cashback rewards, the credit card company pays me to use their money.

Therefore, I am NOT paying the bank a penny in interest and have absolutely no credit card debt.

If the CC issuers don't make enough money off the interest on the card balances, they will start charging annual fees (many have already). So, any card that charges an annual fee is a bad move for consumers.

I haven't used credit cards for over 24 years. I save and pay cash for what I WANT. I take out a car loan or mortgage for what i NEED. Many people get into financial trouble by using CCs as a substitute for income. Bad, bad, bad move.

CC issuers know human nature. Humans are impatient, forgetful, egotistical status seeking animals, greedy, and not very smart at financial matters. Humans cannot wait to buy something that will make them feel good or look good, regardless of the cost. They will forget to make the payment, incurring a late payment fee and interest charges. They cannot remember how much credit they have left and will overspend, incurring an over limit fee. They will spend more than they can afford, incurring interest charges on their credit balances. It's the negative aspects of human nature that CC issuers prey upon.

I have a couple of credit cards, but I use only one and pay the balance off every month. I don't like to carry a lot of cash in my purse. And by using my credit card, I get to "use their money" for about 30 days or longer.

If you use cards wisely they HELP you not hurt you.

You pay them off in total when the bill comes. If you are savvy and interest rates cooperate you invest the money and ride the float.

You also use cards that pay you cash back on every purchase you make.

Saving money is important. But you are missing out on another angle of savings if you don't use credit cards wisely.

I use CC just because of convenience (don't have to carry too my much cash) and I make sure I pay of the balance every month in full . Also make sure that you do not spend too much that you cannot pay off at the end of the month.
