would you vote yes or no if they were gonna have 1 NFL team for each state.?

50 Teams.

5 teams in 5 divisons for each conference. 2 conferences Eastern and Western conferences.

Western Conference teams are west of the mississippi river(including Wisconsin) Eastern conference teams are east of the mississippi(Washington DC is not included) Playoffs. 16 team playoffs(8 from each conference, 5 divison winners and 3 wild card). Top 2 teams in each conference get home field advantage. Superbowl will always be choosen randomly. 20 game schedule. you will play eight games within your own division. and and then you will play six teams from each conference(that are out of your divison). pro bowl will be played in the same place as super bowl, 2 weeks before superbowl. States That have more than 1 team will have to give up a team to a state that does not such as California, Florida, Texas, new york, and if not enough, states that dont end up with a team can draft a college team of there choice as long as both college and state agree on it. 3 year contracts for each player for each team. 35 man teams. Teams can sign players to higher contract if approved by commissioner. i know this will never happen but hey i can dream right?

Update:

@sam: lol it just popped into my head, and decided to see what people think of it. i kinda put alot of thought into this but kinda missing some key stuffs. like rosters and schedules.

No. It's interesting, but there are quite a few reasons why that wouldn't work.

-First of all, not all states are equal. There are about 37 million people in California, but only about half a million in a state like Wyoming. The smaller states couldn't financially support NFL teams (if you want to fill a 50,000 seat stadium every game, you need a metropolitan area population of at least 2-3 million). And the larger states wouldn't be able to accomodate the demand for tickets from their tens of millions of fans.

-Next, the travel costs would be really high for the teams from Alaska and Hawaii. I don't think those teams would be able to turn a profit.

-The players would not like the 20 game schedule at all. They're already complaining that there woudl be too many injuries with an 18 game schedule (and they may be right). 20 seems out of the question.

-the 35 man teams wouldn't have enough players. Currently, NFL teams have 53 men on their rosters. In a typical game, 30 to 40 see playing time. With only 35 men, it is likely that a team would have to forfeit a game if only a couple players got injured at one position.

-You would need to add 18 teams to teh league, and you couldn't really do that by promoting college teams to the pros. College teams wouldn't be nearly as competitive, and the level of competition would be unfair.

-The players' union would not gree to the 3 year contract term limit.

Your plan is very creative, but it isn't realistic. To tell the truth, there's really no reason to change the way things are now. The current 32 team NFL is highly profitable as it is. The only move toward realighnment that will happen soon is that LA will probably get a team. Other than that, things aren't going to change.

That Might Be To Many; I Think Respectivley Certain States/Cities Definatley Should Have a Team Regardless Of Which Sport (Except Soccer {Boring} ) I Think Las Vegas Should Receive The Rams It Sounds They Best Fit The City Because Missouri Does Not Need a Team in My Opinion They & Kansas Share The Cheifs So That Covers Them. as an Future Angeleno Los Angeles Should Have a Team Relocate or Expand (Cheapest is Relocate) I Think a Great Sounding Team That Could Move Then LA Should Get The Vikings and Expand a New Team in Minnesota Just So That Minnesotana Wont Cry About Losing Another Team to Los Angeles & Ends Up Being The Greatest Team Ever! Hahah I Think Alaska & Hawaii Should Absolutley Get a Team Playing Football in Alaska Would Be a Great Competition For Any Sports Team Like Playin in Buffalo I Think That The New York Giants Should Move To Manhattan (Yonkers Would Probably Be Where The Stadium Would Be) and It Can Be Funded By Selling The Jets To New Jersey and They Remain in Meadowlands and Become The New Jersey Jets I Think The NBA Should Come Back To My Homestate of Maryland Move The Mavericks and They Become The Maryland Mavericks; But Back To NFL in Hawaii For Me Itd Be Cool If They Got a Team But Hawaii Seems Like an NBA State To Me

Delaware Should Also Receive a Baseball Team in My Opinion The 302's Hahaha

I Almost Cant Think of Another Team But Anymore Questions Or To Further Discuss This Email Me @ November_Pimp1992@yahoo.com

They can't even get the Player's association and the NFL to agree to a 18 game schedule and you want to talk about expansion to 50 teams and 20 games?

there are 32 teams currently and you want to expand another 18 teams... do you realize what this would do to competition? There would be none

Players wouldn't even last a season

how would a team from Delaware or Iowa or North Dakota field a team... no one would watch and you are going to tell NY that their team is only the Bills and that NJ has to give up either the JETS or Giants...

    Bad Idea.

Too many teams, too many games, not enough fans in most states.

I already have a hard time watching all the games in a week, and there are only 32 teams to deal with (7 games a week). Adding an additional 18 teams and all of their games would be so hard to follow.

I live in Maine, we don't have a large enough population to support a pro team, not to mention we wouldn't be able to draw enough quality players who would want to live in Maine during the season. Rhode Island, Nebraska, Wyoming, Hawaii, Alaska and other less populous states would face the same problems.

thats a bad idea. its too many teams 1st of all. 20 games is stupid. they have a hard enough time keeping players healthy in 16. how do you have 35 man teams when there are 53 currently. and in the 18 game schedule theyre proposing, they would expand the roster too? it would just turn into baseball and be a former shell of itself.

bad idea. you didnt think of this too much did you?

Not only is that unrealistic but it would hurt the league. Not every state can financially support or even cares about professional football. The league would be also be too watered down in talent, and not enough players to cover injuries. That's just too many teams.

No, there would be way too many teams. The playoffs would be all screwed up, having a bad postseason in college is bad enough, leave the NFL the way it is.

It would be nice to get rid of the Jets and Bills
