You have the difference of two squares, so

    (x^16 + 1)(x^16 - 1)

The second term is the difference of two squares, so

    (X^16 + 1)(x^8 + 1)(x^8 - 1)

The third term is the difference of two squares, so

    (X^16 + 1)(x^8 + 1)(x^4 + 1)(x^4 - 1)

The fourth term is the difference of two squares, so

    (X^16 + 1)(x^8 + 1)(x^4 + 1)(x^2 + 1)(x^2 - 1)

The fifth term is the difference of two squares, so we finally get

    (X^16 + 1)(x^8 + 1)(x^4 + 1)(x^2 + 1)(x + 1)(x - 1) = x^32 - 1
