Do you feel that there should be harsher punishments for DUIs/DWIs? If so, what should they be?

We were talking about this in class today, and I was just curious as to what other people would say. Serious answers, please.

Thanks!

Update:

Chewy Ivan 2 : I'm not trying to say that you're wrong, but what about multiple DUI offenders? Like this guy? http://www.adn.com/2010/11/03/1534441/9-time-dui-c...

I think their cars should be painted in some ridiculous fashion so that the rest of us could be warned when we see them coming AND the cops could stop them to see IF they actually have a valid license. Taking away their licenses doesn't work since then they drive WITHOUT a license.

I suggest PURPLE WITH HUGE ORANGE POLKA DOTS.

rumor has it like the congestion charge in london, they are going to make people caught driving under influence have a breathalyser in their car and their car wont start unless its a pass.

howether the punishments in my case are perfect and fair in the UK

No. I think the punishments are sufficient.
