How to make a shy girl smile?

Sounds like you're shy too. I would just let her know that you are interested.

No risk - No reward.

If she is really shy then complimenting her will make her nervous.

I would just talk to her and try to get her to see you as her friend. She'll smile. Be nice but not 'OMG you are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen and every breath of mine is a testament to the greatness of your every molecule.'

Talk about weather. School. Food. Whatever she responds to.

The best thing to do is to smile at her first. If not try and make her laugh. Or possibly show her a picture of a really cute animal.

Tell her she is beautiful, blushing smiling the whole works and she will know you like her, but don't just do this you have to follow up OK!

Ask her questions that are humorous. Maybe she would fall for your question/joke and laugh or smile.
