memory card appears blank even though i know its got songs on it nokia 5230?

just upgraded my daughters phone previously she had a lg cookie (now the 5230)

they both use the same micro sd card as support memory card so ive tried SEVERAL times to put her old memory card in to the nokia .yet when we try the music player it says theres no artists/songs/playlists etc the file manager recognizes the phone has a card in it even knowing the amount of space thats left of its 2 gig left ive tried refreshing the songs/artist/playlist but says theres no files there

yet when the cards back in the old phone or in a pc card reader all the stuffs there on the card ready to play

the user manual is as helpful as a paper life raft with a hole in the bottom

so does anyone in Y/A land have any ideas ?

Update:

sorted it out my self......... its as simple as the phone wont recognize anything other then a memory card with the word nokia printed on it tried it out with my wifes card and my sons card (both official nokia memory cards ) and the phone reads them but wont read my daughters kingston labeled card or one of my old my sandisc cards

You need to call your provider or take it into them and get it switched (a free charge) I took mine in and they did it in 5 mins and show me how to do it but theres something you need to reactivate on the card because you switched it or what ever I forget sorry.... but yes I would take it into your phone provider and they will fix it for you .. once again it is free
