I need some advice please. Is my classmate using me?

I attend a university where we meet one night a week, and on another night or day you meet with a learning team. One of my group members has not ordered her books. We've already been in two classes and she still hasn't ordered any books. I let her make copies from one of the books one day. I was headed to the movies during that time, so she said she would hang around the area and finish making the copies herself so I wouldn't miss my movie. When I got done and met back up with her to get my book, she had copied 6 chapters from the book (the book only has 9 chapters), so that's basically the whole book. She has been bugging me to get copies from my other book, and it's wrecking my nerves. BUT HERE'S THE CATCH! She says she hasn't ordered the books because she doesn't have any money, but she has a HAIR APPOINTMENT every Friday morning. I mean every Friday morning (she never misses it). Also, literally every time I'm on the phone with her she's ordering food (at expensive restaurants). What is this? How can I get her off my back? Clearly she's a user?

Update:

No, she claims she doesn't have any money, the reason she can't get her books. Now she is bugging me about copying my other book! I have to go out of my way to get them to her. Then I'm the only person doing all the work in the group!

Update 2:

Yes, Brownner....I do agree with you. I'm only half Native, so no, I didn't get any assistance. I had to pay out of pocket for my own books.

Judging by your avatar's background I'm assuming you're a Native American, right? If you are, don't you get your tuition/books paid for by your Indian band/First Nation? If you did, let her copy! Some people are unfortunate... so the polite thing would be to let her copy them! If you aren't Native American tell her to back off and pay for her own like you had too. :)

"Sorry, I need my book, I"m sure the Library has a copy you can use." Done.

If you are in a group the work is collaborative so start delegating things to others if your group has not chosen a leader (which should have been the first step). Make sure the project has notes on who contributed what.

Tell her no. It's against copyright laws for her to make these copies.
