  • Please help! What is the formula? And how should I plug in the numbers?

The number of pages printed before replacing the cartridge in a laser printer is normally distributed with a mean of 11,500 pages and a standard deviation of 800 pages. A new cartridge has just been installed.

What is the probability that the printer produces more than 12,000 pages before this printer must be replaced?

What is the probability that the printer produces fewer than 10,000 pages?

    Thank you in advance.

  • Is there some sort of legal action I can take against my apartment complex? Please help ASAP!?

I have a lot to say, but I will try to keep it as short as possible. Okay, on New Years Eve at 9:00pm my car was broken into right outside my apartment as my husband and I was watching a movie. The steering wheel column was busted and a window busted out, therefore resulting in a non-drivable car. I was left without a car for 2 weeks. I had to pay for the car to be towed, a rental car, and for it to be fixed. I told the complex, but they said there's nothing they can do. I told them I wasn't paying the rent for the month. Now I'm being harassed due to non-payment. This is not all!!!! A year ago there was a leaky ceiling, which damaged my clothing and left them moldy. They said there was nothing they could do. I called code enforcement, they came out and gave them a week to stop the leaking and repair the inside of the walls. All the complex did was come out and spray paint the stains on the ceilings while I was away from home. The front door is also off the hinges and during the winter months it stays cold. They have not repaired this completely, and it has been this way for 2 years. They are threatening to evict me now, and it's only been 16 days behind. Is there some sort of legal action I can take against them for all of the pain and suffering? Can they evict me this soon, before the month is even over?

  • I need some advice please. Is my classmate using me?

I attend a university where we meet one night a week, and on another night or day you meet with a learning team. One of my group members has not ordered her books. We've already been in two classes and she still hasn't ordered any books. I let her make copies from one of the books one day. I was headed to the movies during that time, so she said she would hang around the area and finish making the copies herself so I wouldn't miss my movie. When I got done and met back up with her to get my book, she had copied 6 chapters from the book (the book only has 9 chapters), so that's basically the whole book. She has been bugging me to get copies from my other book, and it's wrecking my nerves. BUT HERE'S THE CATCH! She says she hasn't ordered the books because she doesn't have any money, but she has a HAIR APPOINTMENT every Friday morning. I mean every Friday morning (she never misses it). Also, literally every time I'm on the phone with her she's ordering food (at expensive restaurants). What is this? How can I get her off my back? Clearly she's a user?

  • Please help! I have a question about iPod and iTunes?

I recently restored the computer of which my iPod was compatible to, and that it was automatically synchronized to. I didn't get a chance to save any of my music, so all is lost, nor did I get a chance to change automatic syncing to manual before restoration. I would now like to hook my iPod to another computer (the laptop), and start all over. I still do have the music on my iPod and I would like to export the songs from it to the iTunes library on the laptop. The last time I hooked the iPod to the laptop, it froze, and so did the computer. What do I need to do? Is it possible to export the songs? Are there any options out there? Please, I do not want to lose my music, as the songs have been difficult to recover elsewhere. Thanks for the help.

  • What is wrong with my dog? Please help!?

Every time my dog sees either me or my husband putting on clothes or shoes, and grabbing her leash, she all of a sudden has to pee. It is very frustrating for us because we have to try and hide the leash before we take her outside just so she won't pee on the carpet. Then, by the time we have the door open for her to go out, we call for her to come here, and she won't budge. She just sits there and starts to pee. But before she even sees us preparing to take her out, she doesn't appear to have to pee at all. What can we do? What does this mean?

  • Does anyone know of a website that is similar to limewire?

Limewire does not appear to be accessible at this time. I recently restored my computer, and all of the songs that I had downloaded from limewire are gone. I would like to re-download all the songs again. Does anyone happen to know of a site just like limewire, where I can download any song that I want for free.

  • What are some things you can do to cinch your waist, and get rid of "love handles"?

I'm about 129 lbs and 5'0". I need to lose about 10 lbs, but I really want to work on my waist. I have a relatively small waist, but it still needs some work. Any types of foods you can eat, or things you can do? No surgery advice, and no crunches and sit-up advice. All suggestions welcome. Thanks.

  • Can a man with minor scoliosis play football?

My husband is 24 years old and loves football. When he was in middle school, he was checked during his physical to start playing football, and he was told that he could not play because of his condition. He still wants to play, and he is really good. He says that the older he has gotten, the less severe his condition is.....like it doesn't hurt as bad anymore....stuff like that. What do you think? If so, would there be a certain position he would have to play?

  • What will happen if you keep a rotten tooth in your mouth for about 2 years?

My husband lost a temporary filling in one of his teeth about 3 years ago. About 2 years ago he started complaining of tooth pain. Every so often, the pain comes and goes. He now has to pack cotton inside of the tooth so he can eat and to keep it from hurting sometimes. He now says that he can taste the rotten-ness sometimes. I looked at the tooth about 5 months ago and it doesn't even look like a whole tooth, it looks like a half of one. It also is dark inside of it, like rot maybe. He also says he can smell it on his breath sometimes. I'm very concerned. We don't have health insurance, that's why he haven't went to the doctor yet. Is his health in jeopardy? What should he do? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

  • Every time my husband gets upset with me, he takes off his wedding band and throws it or gives it to me....?

I tried asking him what is the point in doing that. To me it seems a little immature. What should I take from this? What are your thoughts on this?

  • My husband hardly ever gets me holiday presents...?

My husband's birthday is coming up on August 22. Every holiday that comes around I ALWAYS get him something. He hardly ever really gets me anything. He says he can't because of financial situations, but I know of times when that was no problem, and he still didn't get me anything. At this time I really can't financially get him anything, because I have been a victim of the economy. Should I still try to get him something, or don't worry about it, just as he doesn't worry about it?

  • My husband told me that if I lost my job, he would send me back to my parents house...?

At the time when my husband told me this, his older brother was living with us (whom didn't and doesn't have a job). He eventually told his brother that he didn't have to share rent with us or any other expenses for that matter, so he can save up his money and get his own place. So my concern has been that, your brother can live scotch-free, while we take care of him, but if I'm became financially dependent, I have to leave, so I can save some money. He came back later and said he didn't mean it that way, and now he gets upset with me whenever I bring it to his attention that I feel it was wrong for him to say that. What do you think of this situation?

  • My husband's deceased mother gave me one of her most prized possessions, but...?

Every time my husband and I get into an argument, he tells me I am not worthy of having his mother's favorite ring and asks for it back. What do you think of this, should he, or should he not ask for it back? Technically, SHE gave it to me right before she passed, but he feels she did, only because I am with him.

  • My husband's brother won't leave us alone.......?

My husband's brother is always knocking on our door. The bad part is he stays across the street in another complex, so it's easy access. Every day, sometimes twice a day, he comes by knocking on our door to spend time with my husband (his brother). His other brother just moved out from living with us for about 4 months. I think it's a little too much at this point. One night around 3:00 in the morning, he came knocking at our back patio door, which is surrounded by woods, and it scared the mess out of me, because we didn't know who it was. He said he came b/c he couldn't sleep and he saw our light still on. I've tried to talk to my husband about this, but he says to me in a smart manner that his brother can come by if he wants to. What should I think about this? What are your thoughts on this? Am I being overboard or should he try to take my feelings into consideration?

  • I need to file a lawsuit against my apartment complex because.....?

My apartment ceiling has been leaking non-stop, 24-7. The leakage is a brownish-green color. I had to patch up one part of the ceiling with paper towels, b/c the leakage started running down the wall before my very own eyes. I've reported this problem to the leasing office twice in one week. On my second time, the office manager and the maintenance guy did a walk through of my apartment. They told me they would be out to fix the problem that next morning. No one came, or called! I've already had ruined items due to the leakage, now the ceiling is molding and mildewing, causing my husband and I to be unable to breathe properly and we feel faint while inside the apartment. My throat becomes sore when I enter, and feels fine when I leave and get fresh air. We can't raise the windows b/c we don't have any screens and they told us we have to buy our own. Just last night a small piece of the ceiling fell off. What should we do about this whole situation?
