My husband hardly ever gets me holiday presents...?

My husband's birthday is coming up on August 22. Every holiday that comes around I ALWAYS get him something. He hardly ever really gets me anything. He says he can't because of financial situations, but I know of times when that was no problem, and he still didn't get me anything. At this time I really can't financially get him anything, because I have been a victim of the economy. Should I still try to get him something, or don't worry about it, just as he doesn't worry about it?

why worry about it, financial reasons are obviously a good enough excuse according to him. He either wont care or he'll soon learn how it feels and you may just get a present next time.

Your man works, treats you with respect, loves you and comes home to you every night. Pick your battles. He could lay on the couch and slap you around. Let him know how much you love him. Do what ever you can to make sure he knows this. Most men loves gifts the same as women but if you really can't afford this show him in other ways. Clean his car or something out of the ordinary for him and let him know that you did it as a gift for him because you love him. When you feel left out, remember that he gives to you every day of the year not just once a year on special occasions. Also on your birthday and holidays, treat yourself!

Why are you so concerned about getting presents during the holidays. There are 365 days in a year my darling that this man could do anything for you. Wouldn't you rather have something from his heart rather than something that is felt to be out of obligation? Don't be selfish. Men are not usually big gift givers. But it is what is in his heart that counts. Why are you focused on giving him a gift when what he treasures is you honey. It is always how to you treat a person that counters any gift.

I think because men in our society are taught that they are worthless if they are not financially successful. So, when they get into the financial bracket where they can afford the Armani suit and Prada shoes, they like to show it off as an external indicator of their success. And if that attracts pretty women, why criticize these men? If they are doctors or attorneys, they put themselves through school and motivated themselves. They deserve to kick back in nice clothes and if a pretty woman comes along, why not? If he wants a gold digger, he will continue the relationship. If he is more intelligent than that, he will find someone he can really relate to.

If your situation is not that well, then just get him a card or make one yourself. I did that once and my husband love it, because it was more special.

Some men are not into getting presents, maybe your husband is like that, but as long as you know he loves you, the presents issue is something you can both talk about in the near future.

    Good luck

No, don't worry about it. Buy a nice bottle of wine and broil some steaks for his birthday. That's enough.

hahaha! Welcome to my World! I still do it, all the way, spoil him rotten, just to make him feel like sh.t, and one year hopefully he will catch on. if! But you know what, he does a lot of other things for me. It sucks though, but what can you do.
