Can a person who has Scoliosis play in the NFL?

My husband loves to play football and he's really good, and really fast, but someone once told him that he could not play National Football because of his condition. He's been really discouraged every since. Is this true?

It depends on how bad it is. My son has a slight curve to his spine, but it hasn't gotten any worse than when he was diagnosed in the 6th grade. I would suggest contacting the NFL directly and asking them or contacting the local NFL team. The NFL contact page will be listed below. Take care and I hope your husband is doing well.

Scoliosis (sko-lee-O-sis) is a disorder in which there is a sideways curve of the spine, or backbone. Curves are often S-shaped or C-shaped. In most people, there is no known cause for this curve. This is known as idiopathic (id-ee-o-PATH-ik) scoliosis.
