Emmanuel simply means God with us He was referred to as Yeshua which means Savior. He fulfilled both titles.

Emmanuel means God is with us. When Jesus was with us he referred to himself as "I am" which is the name of God. The prophecy was clearly fulfilled as it predicted the divinity of the Messiah. This is something te Jews now reject. The modern Jewish text of the Tanakh (Jewish scriptures) is a redacted text. It does not match perfectly to the ancient texts we now have from the 1st century AD. The Septuagint does match it more closely. It is a text translated by the Jews. The text is translated as virgin birth. This is how Jews translated the text in the time before Christ. After that time is was translated differently. Proof of this can be found in the ancient Greek and Aramaic translations made by the Jews before the first century. Again the masoritic text used by modern Jews is less that 1,500 years old and is the only surviving version of 2 redacted texts made well after the dawn of Christianity.

    Psalm 95

Edit Psalm 95 is how I end all my answers. I never said it was a messianic prophecy. Hundreds of texts are available that tell anyone who is interested in what Jews believed before the time of Christ. Read them and decide for yourself. They contain references to Heaven. Hell and other beliefs now rejected by modern Jews. Many Jews are aware of this and explain it by saying that Judaism had became Hellenized and the Rabbis of the first century removed these beliefs to "purify"Judaism.

As Paul said be prepared to explain the faith within you.

And Emmanuel means? Sometimes we have to look at what the word means and not apply literally what may be figurative. Emmanuel: God is with us, or God is for us.

God is with us would be more accureate. This is how the Christ in us is referrenced by many who are born again today. As in God in Christ in us. Thus emmanuel. God is with us.

And how does Jesus connect to this? Because Jesus is the Christ. He made the gift of holy spirit available to us by his sacrifice. And God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself. Thus God was with us through Christ and is still with us through Christ. Thus the prophecy is fulfilled.

    answer: always a good point.

Here's another. There NEVER was a "virgin" birth prophecy

Isaiah 7:14 − The Hebrew Tanakh says “Therefore, the Lord, of His own, shall give you a sign; behold, the young woman (alma) is with child, and she will bear a son and she shall call his name Immanuel.” **Take note, this was written in the present tense. ** But the Greek Septuagint changed “alma,” saying “Behold, a virgin shall be with child and shall bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (Matthew 1:22-23). The church changed the entire verse from present to FUTURE tense and then went further to change the Hebrew alma, meaning a young woman to virgin.

Isaiah 9:5 − The Hebrew Tanakh reads: “For a child has been born to us, a son has been given us and authority has settled on his shoulders. He has been named “The Mighty God” Isaiah was referring to King Hezekiah, son of Ahaz. Again, in an attempt to insert a Jesus prophecy, the KJV changed the tense from the present to the future, making it, “A child is born, a son is given and the government shall be upon his shoulder and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God”. [In Hebrew Hezekiah means “the mighty God.”]

Source(s): Psalm 95 isn't prophetic for the Jewish Messiah. It's amazing someone comes out of the woodwork and claims that Jewish beliefs have changed while Christians have the true interpretation of our text without any proof. Christians don't define what Jewish beliefs have ALWAYS been - G-d says He does not become human and rejects human/deity sacrifice and it is a PAGAN belief that a 'divine savior' is necessary to escape a non-existent hell.

Emmanuel: [God with us] Matthew 1:23-25; 4:25

That is, God with us, the title applied by the Disciple Matthew to the Messiah,

Born of a Virgin; because Jesus was God united with man, and showed that God was dwelling with men.

See, the NT blatantly copied the verse from OT, claimed it was a prophecy fulfilled, then never ever called Jesus Emmanuel ever again.

You are mistaken. Matthew quotes from this prophesy and applies it to Jesus.

(Matthew 1:18-25) But the birth of Jesus Christ was in this way. During the time his mother Mary was promised in marriage to Joseph, she was found to be pregnant by holy spirit before they were united. 19 However, Joseph her husband, because he was righteous and did not want to make her a public spectacle, intended to divorce her secretly. 20 But after he had thought these things over, look! Jehovah’s angel appeared to him in a dream, saying: “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife home, for that which has been begotten in her is by holy spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you must call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” 22 All this actually came about for that to be fulfilled which was spoken by Jehovah through his prophet, saying: 23 “Look! The virgin will become pregnant and will give birth to a son, and they will call his name Im·man′u·el,” which means, when translated, “With Us Is God.” 24 Then Joseph woke up from his sleep and did as the angel of Jehovah had directed him, and he took his wife home. 25 But he had no intercourse with her until she gave birth to a son; and he called his name Jesus.

  • (Isaiah 7:14) 14 Therefore Jehovah himself will give YOU men a sign: Look! The maiden herself will actually become pregnant, and she is giving birth to a son, and she will certainly call his name Im‧man′u‧el.

(Matthew 1:23) 23 “Look! The virgin will become pregnant and will give birth to a son, and they will call his name Im‧man′u‧el,” which means, when translated, “With Us Is God.”

If there seems to be a conflict between the angel’s instructions to Mary (“you are to call his name Jesus”) and Isaiah’s prophecy (“she will certainly call his name Immanuel”), let it be remembered that Messiah was also to be called by yet other names. (Lu 1:31; Isa 7:14) For example, Isaiah 9:6 said concerning this one: “His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.” Yet none of these names were given to Mary’s firstborn as personal names, neither when he was a babe nor after he took up his ministry. Rather, they were all prophetic title-names by which Messiah would be identified. Jesus lived up to the meaning of these names in every respect, and that is the sense in which they were prophetically given, to show his qualities and the good offices he would perform toward all those accepting him as Messiah. So also with his title Immanuel. He measured up to and fulfilled its meaning.

Jesus is Emmanuel's name in the flesh as a man on earth. So Jesus = Emmanuel.

Matt. 1:23, RS: “‘Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and his name shall be called Emman′u-el’ (which means, God with us [“God is with us,” NE]).”

In announcing Jesus’ coming birth, did Jehovah’s angel say that the child would be God himself? No, the announcement was: “He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High.” (Luke 1:32, 35, RS; italics added.) And Jesus himself never claimed to be God but, rather, “the Son of God.” (John 10:36, RS; italics added.) Jesus was sent into the world by God; so by means of this only-begotten Son, God was with mankind.—John 3:17; 17:8.

It was not unusual for Hebrew names to include within them the word for God or even an abbreviated form of God’s personal name. For example, Eli′athah means “God Has Come”; Jehu means “Jehovah Is He”; Elijah means “My God Is Jehovah.” But none of these names implied that the possessor was himself God.
