Computer will not boot...?
when i turn on the computer the fans turn on and the HDD powers up(it gets warm) and the light on the mobo lights up. However, theres no beep and the HDD light is constantly on and theres no signal to the monitor. The monitor has worked with this computer for 3 years now with no problems.. Before this happened i got 2 warnings about my cpu fan. I took the fan apart and cleaned it and now i have this problem. Does it seem to be a problem with the cpu(the fan is working and it warms up and sounds like it should be working) or would it be mobo related? Or do you have any other suggestions? I have already tried the power cord trick, and tried pulling the ram and a new HDD..

If there is no BEEP that means your pc does not POST (power on self test). This means you have a hardware problem. either your cpu, ram or videocard. the hard drive and all other components have nothing to do with it. You should after post be able to enter the bios.
you can try to detach your video card if any and re-installing it. If your problem is not solved, i'm afraid your cpu has had it (overheated).
A new cpu is not that expensive and can be bought with cooling all in one - called 'boxed' that is the cpu, heatsink and vent boxed. check the model of your motherboard and google the specifications, then look for the SOCKET number and buy another CPU with that same socket for example socket 479, 775 for intel cpu's or socket 939, am2, am3 for AMD cpu's
you can find them on ebay, amazon, or any other online webshop.
