Getting rid of a hacker.?

Which security program is the best one to get rid of a hacker on my computer hard drive? I have Norton 360 and Fix Cleaner. I keep getting messages that my computer is being used at present by someone else.

You need to determine if there actually is someone accessing your computer. In the task manager you can go to users to see if it's just you or another person. You can disconnect them for there. Go to Norton also and look to see if you have policies in your firewall that you did not create. Make sure your firewall is always up and your permissions are tight. No need to allow access to your computer from the outside, just let traffic flow from your computer to the outside world. Then check for viruses. Do a full scan in safe mode with system restore OFF. Could be just a virus.

To recover your Internet Explorer: - make sure that all detected viruses / other malwares has been removed - To change your homepage: go to start > control panel > internet options > change the homepage in general tab P.S.: if your homepage keeps turning back, i mean, if after you changed it, it changes back to what the virus changed, there may be other malicious softwares in your computer. - To revert/change your Internet Explorer Window Caption: 1. Start > Run 2. Type 'regedit' 3. Go to 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\In... Explorer\Main' 4. On the right pane, delete the value named 'Window Title', there should be one, but if there isn't, maybe what the virus did was directly infecting the internet explorer's exe file :( You can change the window title to whatever you want as well by changing the 'Window Title' registry value or by creating a new string value and name it 'Window Title' if there isn't any Good luck, hope this helps :)

Best complete way to get rid of a hackers is to format your harddrive, he or she then loses access to the trojan they installed on your computer.

Go to Start, right click on computer and click manage. Click the Remote tab and uncheck "allow remote desktop". You can also block port 3389 in your router's firewall. You should also block port 21 and 22 to prevent SSH attacks.
