What model of Mercedes Benz to avoid?
I plan to save for (a LONG) time and purchase a mercedes Benz vehicle because they look fantastic. However I heard that there are certain model types that are seen as ...(for lack of better words) Not too authentic....or not a classic or Fancy... If this is true let me know what are the model types.

I get that you don't plan on buying one within the next 1-2 years. So if you want a new one which would be a 2012 or a 2013, no one knows how reliable or how they will look. I suggest you buy a year or 2 used. Because if you go brand new, your car will depreciate around ($2,000-$3,500) once you leave the dealership. The AMG's are really good and the 2009-2011 C-300 are great. I just got a C-300 and I love it! Just be aware that maintance will be pricey. The C-230 are not that great, also a mechanic told me to stay away from the E-class. Hope I helped a little....
Enjoy your future car, if you go with Mercedes.... You'll love it =)

I think you've read about/ heard about the ChryslerDaimler partnership with Mercedes-Benz in the mid 1990s - 2000s era.
Yes, several models produced during that period suffered from poor reliability issues.
Here are some of them:
2002-2009 Mercedes E-Class
1996-2006 Mercedes S-Class
The 2003-2007 Mercedes C-Class had cheap cabin plastics and interior build quality suffered as a result.
Newer models, from 2005 onwards had generally better and improved quality.
Current models like the E-Class and C-Class are solidly screwed together and should prove to be reliable.
Before buying your car, make sure that you run a quick search through Google for any owners reporting about poor reliability of the vehicle.

Ones I would stay away from:
C Class especially those little hatch back ones Mercedes-Benz C 200
1997-98 E-420
Ones that have good to me so far...
2007 E350
2009 ML 350
Stay away from early ML models such as 1998-2000. Apparently 2004 or later are much better.

Will you be buying new or used? How much do you plan to spend (in other words, are you saving enough to buy a C-Class or are you saving enough money to buy a S or SL-Class)?
If you are buying a new Benz and this will be a few years in the future, no one will know for sure what the next generations of Benz vehicles will look like or how reliable they will be.

avoid all of them. They are a huge problem. In the fact that if you have problems with them, the parts will cost you damn near more than the car did. If your heart is really actually set on a Benz, then I can't really help you. I've spent my life avoiding them. Best of luck!

All except the AMG ones.
