Good Laptops for College Students?

I already have a laptop that I lug back and forth to college, but there are some major issues with it that I can't ignore.

1) The batter only lasts for an hour and a half. I can't use it during class (even though the professor allows us to), and that's really where I want to keep my notes for the class.

2) It heats up really quickly, and sometimes it overheats and shuts down when I'm working, and I already have a cooler for it, and it isn't working.

Things to keep in mind, I'm a budding writer and photographer, so I need a lot of room for files and photos.

So can someone point me in the direction of a laptop that has a lot of memory, is easily transportable, and doesn't heat up within ten minutes of turning it on?

Oh, and I don't think I can afford a Mac.

I recommend some sort of net book. They're cheap. They can keep notes. And have a fast web browser. If you can afford an ipad I would get that! All you have to do is buy pages in the app store and your set to type all of your notes. The only thing I suggest if you get the ipad is that you get the dock keyboard or the wireless keyboard because it's faster to type that way if your keeping up with your teacher. I have an iPad and I love it!the other thing about the iPad is that you need some sort of computer to upgrade it and such. I just used my brothers once and I'm good. Good luck!

Any cutting-ingredient-day pc you may desire to purchase would be sufficient for college use. you may the two pass high priced and get one that may be extra appealing (after college) or you may pass extra value-effective and get one strictly for college. confirm you ask questions regarding the battery/existence span in the previous procuring a computing device, if I have been you, i could get one with a battery of four hours+. One final tip in the previous you pass off procuring, i could examine expenses on line first and learn them with pc shops which includes BestBuy. BestBuy has a tendency to over money in on their electronics and that i could advise checking expenses in the previous procuring.
