what type of carrier do you use in restaurants?

My son is almost 5 months old. I'd like to bring my son with me but many restaurants don't allow strollers and my son is too long for the baby carrier. He can't sit on his own yet and will fall out of the baby seats they provide so i'm stuck on what to put him in while i eat out. does anyone have some suggestions?

I just recently went out to dinner last night with my 3 month old and they let him in with his stroller. It also depends on what type. Do you have a baby sling? You can put him in it and let him stay in that while you eat. That is just a suggestion. Can he hold is head up long enough to sit in an umbrella stroller? If so he could use that since that doesn't take up too much space.

We had a small, space saver high chair that reclined for taking to restaurants- strollers in restaurants is one of my pet peeves!

Our high chair takes up the same amount of room as an adults chair and the reclining feature was terrific for a not yet sitting infant.

Fisher price makes a nice reclining space saver- I won't recommend ours because it has been recalled, we didn't send it back because the problem was with the straps so we just replaced them!

take in a blanket or even a boppy and put it around your baby in the highchair. or get a bumbo!!! until my daughter could sit well unsupported in a highchair, the bumbo was our lifesaver at restaurants!
