My son's skin is peeling around his private area?
My Son's private area's skin is peeling but there is no rash there. I keep putting Desitin on it every single time i change his diaper. I change his diaper about every 2 hours when he eats or if i need to before that. So i'm not letting him sit in a wet diaper for too long. I also use Pampers diapers. I showed my son's pediatrician on Nov. 18 when he turned one month and she didn't say much about it, but just prescribed a stronger diaper rash cream. I haven't been able to get it yet because his prescription was expensive and his medical card STILL hasn't arrived in the mail. Does anybody know why his skin could be peeling? Also, I try to use as less wipes as possible whenever he has a messy diaper and i don't wipe too hard. Thanks in advance :]

You know what, i would stop the diaper rash cream altogether and see if that helps. you may just be drying out his skin with the cream.

Too much moisturizer can be just as bad as not enough. Have you ever gone swimming all day and had peely skin from being waterlogged? Cut back on the cream, keep him nice and dry and see if it helps. If it's red or sore try a cotton ball of Maalox which reduces the acid on their skin.
