What should I expect from my mammogram ultrasound results?

I had the ultrasound done on Friday on my right breast. The doctor's office just called for me to come in this afternoon saying the doctor needed to go over the results with me. I'm as nervous as I can be. Any advice from anyone??

Don't be nervous The results does not necessarily mean breast cancer. When I was called in they told me I had to go to the cancer clinic immediately. Yes I was diagnosed with breast cancer but their phone call was a little different than yours. If doctor orders biopsy he has found something but cancer isnt a death sentence. The medical knowledge they have today is quite different then years ago.

Breast cancer can be cured. It could also be a benign tumor which they remove & its over. Any questions feel free to e mail me. I am now a breast cancer survivor for 3 years.

The advances in medicine in this field are enormous. It's always for the best to remain calm and deal with whatever the results are. The hardest part is over, by taking a step towards avoiding the unknown. Chances are if there is any anomaly it's treatable and not the end of the world. May your results reveal a healthy you!

I one had something very small show up in my mammogram and had to have it redone in six months. It ended up going away on its own which was wonderful. I like the advice you've been given so far - just go in with an open mind and a positive attitude. Don't worry until you have to and many things are very treatable. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Let me know what you find out if you can or email me if you just need to talk.

Best of Luck to you. I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer at the age of 42. It was my right breast as well. My father had Stage 3 Breast Cancer in his left Breast. He is a 14 Year Surivor. Whatever the results, know that you will get through it. My father just turned 71. I hope to live as long as he. :) It is common for a doctor to call you in, to discuss your results. While mine wasn't good news, yours just may be. Good Luck!!!

What you can expect is for them to want to do a biopsy. The radiologist saw something that warrants one and likely called you doctor to tell him or her on Friday or Monday otherwise her or she would not yet know the results yet.

Keep in mind 80% of biopsies are benign.

Your doctor may not even have the report yet, but if they do get a copy it will tell you exactly what the radiologist reported.

All it means is they choose added photographs to objective to get a greater effective view of a few thing. If there is a few thing there, it relatively isn't any longer likely maximum cancers yet rather a cyst or fibrocystic alterations. yet even whether it relatively is maximum cancers, it relatively is totally treatable! do no longer subject. it relatively is totally ordinary.

I totally agree with first answer.

You must go with open mind and discuss all queries in detail.

As for now there are 50.50 chances that nothing serious will come out.

    Good luck.
