how to hang black wallpaper without leaving white stripes?

Simple, but time consuming.

Measure and mark the size of the wall paper on the walls. Draw vertical lines form ceiling to floor, and paint 1" stripes of black paint. on the markings. No edges will show.

When I first saw this I was going to say paint the wall where the paper meets black so if it does show through it will be black but since you think it's the paper Maybe overlap it a little.

I've never seen a "selvage" edge on wallpaper, which makes me think that the whit that is showing through is your wall.

When you hang wallpaper (regardless of color) the new piece you hang should overlap the the previous piece by 1 1/2 to 2 inches.

Then, with a very sharp, dry utility knife you score the full length of the two strips and peel away the excess.

When wallpaper is wet (with either water or paste) it swells. When it dries, it shrinks. That's why your two pieces of wallpaper have separated.

wall paper shrinks so my top tip is to use a felt tip pen or chalk or a crayon to go up and down the joins in the wall paper.:) hope this helpful
