When will the U.S. Govt. secure our borders?

The borders will probably never be completely secure. We have almost 7500 miles of borders with Canada and Mexico, and another 12,500 miles of coastline. We just don't have a good way right now to continuously guard 20,000 miles of border.

That isn't to say we don't have to try, and there is a lot of room for improvement, but a totally secure border is going to be very very difficult.

And what do you propose?

30 foot high bar wired topped fences with armed guard towers every 100 yards all across the Mexican and Canadian borders. Oh and lets not forget mining our coastal waters all along the east and west coasts.

When they finally decide they want the economy to completely collapse.

(The only REAL consequence of "sealing the border" would be runaway inflation, since all the functions currently performed by "illegals" for $3/hour to $5/hour would require Minimum wage [$6.60/hour] to keep getting done, or they would just "cease".....so what you are REALLY asking for, in effect, is over 200% "instant inflation".....is that what you want? You understand your wages will stay the same, right?)

Our resources are stretched too thin right now and many businesses wouldn't be too happy when we prevented their cheap labor workers from coming through.

I doubt our borders will be secured any time soon.

If they build thousands of miles of fences, it be a construction nightmare, and the illegals would still find ways of getting past them.

The silly Americans will leave their borders unsecured as we infiltrate you.
