When I allow windows updates does this use up disk space?

Useless is the wrong term you are not useless, exactly what I meant actually. Overwrites them that's what I thought . you expressed it well

    If you mean when you install new updates then they may take up a tiny bit of space, as updates simply update existing files and writes over them, so it depends on what updates you chose.

    Yes, when you allow windows to update it does use some space on your hard disk. But this is very little. When it does update it usually only takes several MBs of Hard disk, but today's computers have many GBs of hard disk space. A brand new computer today usually has 160 or more GBs of Hard Disk. 1 MB = 1 million bites. 1 GB = 1 Billion Bites. So 1,000 MBs = 1 GB.
