OLD TESTAMENT is the original book of Christianity - What was the need of the NEW TESTAMENT ?

The old testament contained rules, principles, morals, dogmas, canons, ethics, fables and tales on which Christianity evolved. What than was the need to dilute and reform the Old Testament ? Was it an desperate attempt by cleaver evangelists to hide the barbarous and inhuman aspects of what God dictated to the rustic writers of the Bible ?

NONE of the Bible is "Christian". The OT is Jewish and the NT was written by mostly Jewish men (I believe Luke was Greek and Paul was considered Roman - even though he was born a Jew). In essence, these things were taken over and reshaped, adding other things into it (Logos is a concept given by Plato long before there was anything jotted down about the New Test. - Trinity is a Pagan concept - a mangod dying for his people is also a Pagan concept; see Dionysus/Bacchus).

As for trying to hide the OT God... no, I don't believe that was the case here. Or else they would have left out most of the books of the OT which wasn't really used like that by the Jews anyway. Their main books are the 5 books of Moses - the Torah. No, I think it was more that these beliefs ended up combining in the mixed cultures of Rome and the writers put together certain things to back up those ideas... then, ta da! A new religion is formed. This happens all throughout history at different levels when cultures combine.

The Old Testament and New Testament are both very important. They fit together perfectly. If you don't have the New Testament you don't have the complete word of God just like if you don't have the Old Testament. For instance...

Something that is very important in understanding the biblical timeline of the bible is the word "begat". We have learned recently that the word "begat" does not mean immediate son. Therefore it changes the amount of years between each person changing the timeline that God has given us. This is very important.

Genesis 11:12-13- And Arphaxad live five and thirty years, and begat Salah. And Arphaxad lived after he begat Salah four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters.

If you go by just this verse you would think that Salah was the son of Arphaxad. You would think that Salah was born when Arphaxad was 35. So there would be 35 years between Arphaxad and Salah. If we didn't have the New Testament we wouldn't know that this is not the case and we would be wrong.

Luke 3:35-36- ...which was the son of Sala (Salah in Greek) which was the son of Cainan, which was the son of Arphaxad...

By this verse we see that Cainan was the father of Salah and Arphaxad was the grandfather of Salah. So Salah wasn't actually born when Arphaxad was 35 but Cainan was then Salah was born when Arphaxad died which would mean there was actually 35 years plus 403 years (438) in between Arphaxad and Salah. It makes a very significant difference in the timeline of the bible. If we didn't have that understanding thanks to the New Testament we would be terribly off with the timeline.

I know this sounds crazy but it's a very very small example of how important the New Testament is the Old Testament. There are a ton of very very important details that a true bible believer would need in both Old Testament and New Testament to get 100% truths from God. I hope this helped and didn't confuse you. God bless you :)

via the time of Jesus, the Jews were making use of the Septuagint, a Greek translation of the Hebrew Scriptures. at the same time as the Jews keen to pass lower back to making use of Hebrew, they in uncomplicated terms took those books that were written in that language, and dumped the later ones that were written in Aramaic. So, maximum Bibles contain a similar OT books that the Jews renowned as Scripture. No "Christian" variations in any respect; both Christians and Jews makes use of a similar supplies to grant the modern variations. some Bible nevertheless contain those more advantageous Aramaic books. that's time-commemorated because the Apocrypha, or Deutero-Canonical books. The Torah is in uncomplicated terms the first 5 books, also time-commemorated because the Pentateuch. There are also the writings of the regulation, and Prophets, and understanding besides, and the Psalms. lengthy tale short: the OT in maximum Christian Bibles is an similar as what the Jews use. more advantageous or a lot less.

The New Testament is about the coming of Jesus Christ and His sacrifice that He made for us. Jesus came and improved the Old Testament with new teachings and due to His death, a lot of things written in the Old Testament were changed and didn't mean anything any more.

    Hope that helps

The Old Testament provides the history of God's people, the way God dealt with them, and provides examples by which we may learn. It outlines the Mosaic Law that the Isrealites were under. This law was a leader to Christ.

(Galatians 3:24-25) . . .Consequently the Law has become our tutor leading to Christ, that we might be declared righteous due to faith. 25 But now that the faith has arrived, we are no longer under a tutor.

When Jesus came on the scene, he put an end to the Law when he gave his life for mankind. The new law was to love God and to love your neighbor.

(Matthew 22:37-40) . . .You must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind.’ 38 This is the greatest and first commandment. 39 The second, like it, is this, ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments the whole Law hangs, and the Prophets.”

Both the Old and New Testaments are essential to understanding who God is and how we can worship him acceptably.

(2 Timothy 3:16-17) . . .All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

Old testament was like a schoolmaster to bring us unto christ that we might be justified by faith(Galatians 3:24).

But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a school master.

Read Galat. chap 3 completely, to understand the difference between these two testaments.
