Minnesota Vikings new quarterback?

Brett Favre won't be here next season, and Tavaris Jackson is not very good. Who do you think the Vikings will get next season as QB?

Unfortunately, I don't see the Vikings trading up to get a rookie QB who could start Game #1 and there isn't much available on the waiver wire either. I think they sign a veteran QB like Hasselbeck(who will probably be kicked to the curb this off-season) and either a 7th-round draft pick or a young NFL QB with potential like Tyler Thigpen and let them and TJ and Joe Webb duel it out in preseason keeping the best 3.

Regardless, barring an unforeseen flash of talent, it doesn't bode well the Vikings QB position next season.

It doesn't matter how good Tarvaris Jackson is - he's a free agent next year, so he'll be gone too.

My guess is that the Vikings will use a draft pick (they should have a high one) on a top-tier college QB like Andrew Luck or Jake Locker. At the same time, they'll probably sign a veteran to hold down the starting job until the new guy is ready.

I'm not too sure who they will sign as a veteran, but there are a few QBs scheduled to be free agents: Matt Hasselbeck, Kyle Orton, Alex Smith, Chad Pennington and Kerry Collins are among them. I don't know how many of these guys will re-sign with their teams, but any of them would make a good placeholder QB.

I think they should give Jackson another chance, he did earn the Vikings a trip to the playoffs in 2008. I think they should bench Favre and let Jackson play out the season first before considering getting a new quarterback.

There's a ton of talk about Vince Young being let go by the Titans, and I'm sure plenty of teams will be more then happy to have him. He wouldn't be bad at all for the Vikings. Or it's entirely possible they'll just grab a guy in the Draft.

I smell a trade a brewing! Look for Kevin Kolb to be the next Vikings QB.

I think Minnesota still believes in tavaris, but that doesn't mean they still won't draft a qb. my guess is they nab a qb in the third round or so in the draft, but Jackson will start next year.

Either Tarvaris Jackson or Andrew Luck maybe. I cant see them giving any other college qb a chance. Jake Locker isnt very good neither is ryan mallet. Luck has actual talent. Maybe Carson Palmer if he gets let go? who knows. For now it will be tarvaris jackson

Either Jake Locker or Ryan Mallett. They'll use their no. 1 draft pick for a QB

Judging from their past moves, I expect them to pick up either Matt Leinart, Brady Quinn or Alex Smith. They may also give JaMarcus Russelll a look or see if Dallas wants to part with Jon Kitna.
