To the other post - having an influence on and idolizing are totally different. Of course outside influences are going to have an effect on children.

Johnny Depp, from all reports, seems to be a really nice guy and takes time to talk with kids when he meets them. He also stays out of gossip magazines and has a pretty quiet life with his family. That's a good influence.

Some celebrities have done interviews and say they don't drink, smoke or cuss. Other celebrities are caught all the time driving drunk or doing other dangerous and outrageously spoiled things. Obviously one is a better influence than the other.

Going by personal experience I would like to say that if a parent teaches their child well, the child will react when something is not suitable and they will take it upon themselves not to watch it, It is all in how things are perceived and every child is different or on a different maturity level.

Former President George W. Bush. Unless they want to grow up to be War Criminals, then he's an excellent role model.

All of them. Children should idolize their parents not celebrities.
