News report without parents consent?

My friend is faking a crime and pretending all over facebook that hes arrested and crap.

He's 18 so I said, "Are there news reports?" and he (posing as his dad) said,

"No. There won't be. We requested not to have them report it"

I know for a fact that there is a law or something that says regardless of parental consent the public has a right to know, so if you could...What is the Act/Law/Amendment or whatever that says that?

Freedom of something...idk?

Thanks

Just start a website claiming he is suing because he was prison raped.
