Take a plastic bag, basket, or whatever and throw all clothes that aren't hung up in there. Set them aside out of your room. Do laundry later & do not allow the clothes into your room unless you have hung them up or folded them. That might mean doing them outside your room.
Take a garbage bag & put all the trash and water bottles in there. Recycle if you want. Just make sure to get all of it.
Take the dishes into the kitchen and don't allow yourself to take food into your room after that. Make a sign if you have to, which is one way you can keep the room cleaner.
Get a few water bottles that you can reuse for your room. Don't allow plastic ones inside your room. Just have one chilling in your fridge & have the other one with you.
Don't change your mind in the morning when you get dressed & if you do, hang the clothes back up & have a dirty clothes basket. If you have a lot of shoes, get a box and put all the ones you don't wear in there but keep out the ones you wear the most (or just leave them on top).
Sort your makeup. One bag hold what you use every single day and another one is special makeup.
Wash your sheets, vacuum/sweep your floors, wash your windows, rearrange your room, and spray it with something that smells fresh.

I used to have the same problem but I hope this helps. Chose a weekend where you can completely focus on getting your room clean. Put on some music while you do so if you wanna make it a little less dreadful but do not talk on the phone, text or watch TV that will distract you. first start with everything that doesn't belong in your room, dirty dishes, water bottles, and trash and get all of that out. then work on the laundry situation start your laundry and get all of it off the floor, do this at least once a week maybe even twice. Then just start with everything else. Try getting some baskets and organizers to put things in to make your room more enjoyable. I hope this helped and make sure to vacume, dust and do a brief cleaning every week to keep your room good, but its best if you straighten it up a little every day like throwing trash, putting dirty clothes in a hamper and making your bed.

Jesus we're twins when it comes to this! I have almost the exact same situation.
With me it finally got to the point where I was sick of having a dirty room, and I wanted to do it before my mom resorted to threatening to take my electronics away. The thing is, starting it is the hardest part. But once you get rolling, you'll be done before you know it. I usually get the floor done, sort out dirty, clean, and clothes I don't want into piles, and put them away, take them to the hamper or throw them in a trash bag for my mom to give to someone else. My floor 75% of the problem. Then I take a trash bag and fill it with the water bottles, snack bags, old papers, and trash. Then I vacuum and move on to putting all my clean clothes in my dresser, clear off my desk, etc. It's alot better when you have music, or a tv in your room so it's not so bad.
To keep it from getting to be a dump again I usually dedicate a few minutes everyday to pick up clothes I left on the floor, drinks I'm done with, just tidy up a little. If you make it a habit you room willl stay clean.

lmfao ur soooooo much like me.. identical problem XP
lol i keep a trash can [in my room] and a basket for my dirty clothes.
And i just throw the clean clothes in my closet, close the door and wallah [me do not like folding me clothes... takes to long >_>]!!! a clean room ;P
with the dirty dishes and all, try to bring all of them down to the kitchen.
fix anything that look messy, it wouldn't take long [even though you think it will]
Trust me... the room WILL get messy over again, but just once in a while when you feel disgusted with urself, clean it like i said xDD

1. Safety First Pick up chords ect. That clutter the floor with family members or a trusted friends help if you need them. 2. Set up 5 boxs or bins. Donate, Keep, Family, ( things that dont belong in you room, get them out!) Trash, Recycle. 3.Set your timer for 15 minutes and Beat The Clock! 4. Take only 20 Seconds to choose which bin to place the object in. Any thing I keep I need to find a home for. After the session, I need to empty every bin. Good luck this really works for me.!

well th enumbe rone thing i think would help is to take out your dishes when youre done with them and dont set them down, or dont eat in your room at all. that will also keep the smell away. and for clothes, get a hamper or maybe even a trash bag and hang it on your door and ut your dirty clothes in it,

Clean it up, organize it, buy plastic or clear bins organize stuff in the bins. I'm messy too and I'm 16 but my room isn't so bad because I organize.
