crafts for 9-11 year olds?

I always think it's pretty darn adorable when my little niece decorates her own frame for her mom and then puts a cute picture in it, but a different project (warning, a tad more expensive, approximately $20 or so) that I did when I was around her age was made a stepping stone for my mom. I put my hand print in it and decorated it with beads and flowers and adorable little girl things. It takes time and patience, but my mom loved it and still has it hanging up in the living room (I'm 14 now!).

Something that is inexpensive to do is cut pictures out of magazines and write stories about the parent. They could be make believe even. All you need is paper and some scissors and glue, maybe a folder to put them in.

Well making cupcake crayons are really fun !!!!!!!! you just take crayon bits put them in a cupcake pan WITH CUPCAKE CUPS! then bake them at 350 for about 10mins than let them sit outside untill they cool
