  • Prefab homes?? cost and questions?

We are needing to move in the next couple of months

We can't find a place we want to buy

Though we have found a few lots

We have thought about buying a prefab home and putting it on a lot

What are some of the extra costs and would it end up being as much as buying an existing home?

The lots range from $50,000 to $120,000

And the prefab home around $250,000

We would need to have the land prepared ie tree removal, excavating, well septic, utilities hook up, and a foundation layed.

I've estimated this around $110,000. Does this sound about right?

I know it all depends on where the land is and if any special problems come up

But if anyone has done this and can offer me any insight as to what to expect, I would really appreciate it.

  • Hooking iPod to dvd player or tv?

Can I hook my iPod touch 4th gen up to my tv?

Do I need one of those cables that have red, white and yellow prongs on one end?

Also, to hook it up to my dvd player, which is a samsung that says made for ipod on it, do I need one of those cables or can I use a usb cord?

And apparently it is supposed to say 'tv out ' somewhere in the ipod settings but i can't find it. Does it only have that option once it is hooked up properly?

Thank you to whoever answers my questions :)

Oh and I want to hook it up to watch movies.

I already converted them to the right format.

  • red marks all over toddlers body?

I have an 18 month old and about 3 weeks ago he had a little break out of red bumps. They started on his arms and have gradually spread across his body.

The older bumps have turned to bruises.

Most of them are flat or slightly raised and some of them are quite puffy like a welt.

When they first broke out he had a barking cough and a fever, which led me to believe it may be measles.

He had a doctors appt today and he said it is not measles but he couldn't diagnose it.

He thought it may be bites of some kind, fleas or mites maybe.

But he sleeps with me most nights and my 4 year old daughter does not have any of the same red marks nor do I.

If anyone has any other ideas I would appreciate it.

He has been referred to a dermatologist as well as a pediatrician but that may take weeks before I can get it.

    I am very concerned.

  • need help with a diet for hyperactive child?

I have a 3 year old who is extremely hyperactive and fits alot of the symptoms for adhd or maybe she's just highly spirited. She's not been diagnosed professionally, I have a doctors apt scheduled but can't get in for awhile.

I am trying to get her on a diet to find out what triggers it. (mostly the rage and outbursts)

I have read about the feingold diet and a few others.

She also has a few other things that I think might be food allergy related, frequent infections, eczema etc,

Can anyone help get me started?

  • Kitten with a broken leg?

I just adopted a 3 month old kitten from the spca and it's front leg is broken up near the shoulder.

I took it to the vet and they couldn't do surgery or put a pin in or a cast on because the leg is so small.

has anyone had experience with this?

Will it heal properly on it's own?

It is bandaged up right now tight to the kitten so the leg doesn't move.

How long will it take to heal? And what is the best/worst case scenario?

  • my 3 year old stutters?

my daughter is almost 3 and has had a little stutter for a while but it has gotten worse in the past couple of months.

it's really bad when she's excited or something but she has it even when she's calm.

it can make a simple sentence take forever for her to finally get it out.

has anyone had any experience with this?

will it go away on its own or is there anything i should be doing to help get rid of it?

  • what 7 passenger car should i get?

my husband and i are looking to get a new vehicle in the near future.

we want to get a 7 seater that scores at the top of the list on safety ratings.

i know all 7 seaters will be pretty big but i don't really like to drive a huge vehicle. so one that feels a little smaller would be preferable.

also, something in an suv or crossover not a van or minivan.

any advice on what would be good?

i've been looking at a few, incuding the traverse, journey, mazda5 and cx-9.

  • confused about braxton hicks?

i have been having cramps that feel like menstrual cramps for maybe the past week.

i know that contractions feel like a tightening in your stomach but are the cramps anything?

this is my 2nd pregnancy but i didn't feel any braxton hicks with my first.

also, if you experienced braxton hicks, how long was it until you actually went into labour?

  • gecko or tree frog for a pet?

I was going to get my niece a tree frog for christmas. (She is 10) I already have the terrarium and accessories. But then someone said a gecko would make a better pet.

I was thinking of getting a dumpy tree frog.

Does anyone have or has anyone had either a tree frog or gecko that can give me some input as to which would make a better pet?

  • I need custody advice?

I want to leave my husband. We have a two year old daughter and another one on the way.

He is violent, an alcoholic, does cocaine, drives drunk, stays out all night with out an explanation, among other things.

I would never let my daughter be alone with him or anyone in his family, as they all have the same behaviors.

I can't really prove anything, he doesn't have a record or anything.

But I know it is in my daughters best interest for him to not be in her life.

I want to get full custody allowing him no visitation privileges of any kind. I know this is hard to do since courts try to have both parents in the child's life.

    Does anyone have any advice?

Has anyone been through this that can help me out at all?

    Please, all answers are appreciated.

  • mmr vaccine and autism?

I have an appointment to get my 2 year old daughter the measles, mumps & rubella vaccine tomorrow and it makes me very nervous.

They are supposed to get the vaccine at 1 year but I didn't get it for her when she turned one because I am so nervous due to all of the links between the vaccine and autism.

I know there is no sound proof. But what should I do?

Does anyone have any info on this topic?

And anything about waiting until later on. I read that the vaccine is given around the same time that autism is usually diagnosed, both around one year of age.

I appreciate any help or advice.

  • Should I be worried??

For the past while my husband has been coming home in the middle of the night or not coming home at all.

He doesn't call or anything, just shows up drunk.

He just texted me saying he might not come home.

He works in a restaurant with lots of young attractive girls.

And to add to it I can't have sex right now (it's pregnancy related)

I may be jumping to conclusions but I think he is cheating.

    What would you think?

Is there anyway to find out?

  • Seriously, what is wrong with me?

I was married pretty young and got divorced for pretty good reasons (I won't go into that). Now I am re-married and have a daughter. My husband is not nice at all. He has been awful to me for years. And has told me so many times to leave. I haven't because I am trying to decide what is best for my daughter.

So, recently me ex and I have been emailing each other.

It makes me so sad because I wonder if I did the right thing.

What is the deal with me?
