red marks all over toddlers body?
I have an 18 month old and about 3 weeks ago he had a little break out of red bumps. They started on his arms and have gradually spread across his body.
The older bumps have turned to bruises.
Most of them are flat or slightly raised and some of them are quite puffy like a welt.
When they first broke out he had a barking cough and a fever, which led me to believe it may be measles.
He had a doctors appt today and he said it is not measles but he couldn't diagnose it.
He thought it may be bites of some kind, fleas or mites maybe.
But he sleeps with me most nights and my 4 year old daughter does not have any of the same red marks nor do I.
If anyone has any other ideas I would appreciate it.
He has been referred to a dermatologist as well as a pediatrician but that may take weeks before I can get it.
I am very concerned.

Hi. The bumps just maybe from an insect bite, and he may have an allergy to them. There are children who are allergic to certain insect bites. my niece for example is allergic to Mosquito bites. Try some Benadryl. They sell Children's benadryl just about everywhere. For the itching, you can use Caladryl lotion on Him. They have it in clear so you wont even know its on Him.
I found this website that may also be of some help. http://familydoctor.org/familydoctor/en/health-too... Sorry i couldn't be of more help.
