need help with a diet for hyperactive child?

I have a 3 year old who is extremely hyperactive and fits alot of the symptoms for adhd or maybe she's just highly spirited. She's not been diagnosed professionally, I have a doctors apt scheduled but can't get in for awhile.

I am trying to get her on a diet to find out what triggers it. (mostly the rage and outbursts)

I have read about the feingold diet and a few others.

She also has a few other things that I think might be food allergy related, frequent infections, eczema etc,

Can anyone help get me started?

The #1 culprit in foods that it is thought to contribute to hyperactivity is High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS), known as glucose-fructose on Canadian labels. It is a cheap sugar substitute. There are also several food colourings that you should avoid.

Just about EVERYTHING you buy has HFCS in it anymore. You've got a lot of work to do to find foods that contain none of these ingredients.

Read the labels and opt for all natural ingredients that you can pronounce. Remember that many additives are the vitamins and minerals that are necessary in our diet, so you need to do some research to find out what "chemicals" are OK in foods and what chemicals are [cheap] substitutes for the real thing.

But HFCS is a biggie. Make sure the label does NOT list HFCS.

All natural, organic foods are better so there aren't any artificial colors/flavors. Google adhd natural diet and you should get a good base to work with.
