gecko or tree frog for a pet?

I was going to get my niece a tree frog for christmas. (She is 10) I already have the terrarium and accessories. But then someone said a gecko would make a better pet.

I was thinking of getting a dumpy tree frog.

Does anyone have or has anyone had either a tree frog or gecko that can give me some input as to which would make a better pet?

Talk to li'l nieces mommy. At 10 years old, you can be sure that it won't be her pet, but mom and/or dad's pet. Certain types of geckos can be handled occasionally, a frog shouldn't be handled at all (with your hands), so a gecko might be better. Frogs and geckos are both usually nocturnal, and will be sleeping during the day, so that might be kind of boring for her. I think a fish is probably a better pet just because they are cheap, easy, and more entertaining for a young girl.

Have you considered a hamster or guinea pig?

I even have 2 white's tree frogs, and that i think of they are astounding pets. They stay in slightly arboretum (for loss of a greater helpful be conscious) with plastic vegetation that they could climb, a warmth source, a water dish, thermometer and humidity gauge, and bedding. They consume stay crickets, and each now and then they're going to sing. they want sparkling water on a daily basis, and the water must be stale (i save mine in a sprig bottle and fill their water dish after washing it on a daily basis). I additionally save a numbe of stay crickets reachable, so which you ought to feed those too. And in case you have a trojan horse "component", you will ought to recover from it. desire that facilitates
