Car immobiliser problem, keys?

Ok so after running my battery dead by sitting in the car with the radio on for too long, I got some fellas to bump start it for me (push it along and pop out the clutch) and so i made it home. When I got home i tried to start the car again, just to see if the battery would need an overnight charge. Got no response from anything except the lights and wipers.

Had the starter motor refurbished and still no change so that was a waste of money. After leaving it for a few hours tried again and could hear the charge to the starter.

Got an auto electrician out to remap or whatever the immobiliser, as the light had been staying on while trying the ignition. Now when the key is turned, it chuggs, but doesnt quite catch the engine if you understand what i mean? and the immobiliser is flashing.

Does it sound like the key may need reprogramming?

the car is a 2001 daewoo matiz, im not sure what the immobiliser does on this particular car. But im presuming its stopped the fuel flow.

    Hiya,

I had a similar problem with my W reg VW Polo just a few weeks ago. Got a diagnostic test done and it came back that there was a fault with the immobiliser. Mechanic reset the Immobiliser and the car has been running perfectly ever since. I would suggest getting a diagnostic done just to be sure, as it could be that you have a key signal that's low if it's not the Immobiliser.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks
