Does Batman use any real martial arts in the recent movies?
I know that it is choreographed movie fighting but I was watching The Dark Knight recently and I thought I saw hints of real martial arts being used. If any are used what are they?

The guys that trained Christian Bale were instructors from Keysi Fighting Method, basically a form of Jeet Kune Do Concepts from the Inosanto Lineage (Bruce Lee - Dan Inosanto - Marc McFann - Justo Dieguez Serrano) with Justo's particular artistic input. It's very similar to Kali, due to the heavy influences from Inosanto himself. Hence the elbows, knees and headbutts.

It is choreographed, but, as has been said, based on Keysi Fighting Method. The signature being the "pensador" stance, in which the hands are up at the head, bracing the elbow to deflect incoming attacks. The choice for it came from the choreographer's view that the posture looked like a bat spreading it's wings.
I can't confirm the JKD connection, and believe that to be a misunderstanding somewhere along the line. I do understand their claims are as follows:
"KFM is a Spanish martial art. It was not born or reinvented in the 'dojo'; KFM was born on the streets of Spanish gypsy origin. It has grown, developed and matured on the streets and the KFM Instructor Development Program is now a direct consequence of real events, experiences and subsequent years of investigation. KFM is an amazing multi dimensional journey into the world of self-discovery."

Justo Dieguez and Andy Norman deny the idea of KFM being an "art of arts" or a conglomeration of techniques. The concepts may be similar to JKD, but without hard evidence of these claims, I do not find it reliable.

Of course they use real martial arts. It's choreographed, as you say, but the choreographer doesn't just make it up. The movie industry has professionals from just about every industry to help them make specific scenes in films appear more realistic.
Additionally, Bale trained in the Keysi Fighting Method and performed many of his own stunts.
