Would you be so kind as to help me in deciding on a name for my character?
Posted this last night and only got one answer. Hoping for more this time. XD
She's a wood faerie who's also a thief and a compulsive liar. For most of the story, she pretends to be the princess of the faerie kingdom, who was kidnapped several years before. Anyway, she needs a name, but I can't decide on one. Which do you think? (The princess's name is Mercuria, by the way, if that helps out at all.)
The list of names I've been trying to choose from:
Mahogany
Dandelion
Hawthorne
Sawyer
Mallow
Montague (Monty)
Also feel free to suggest other names. I'd like something botanical, since she's a wood faerie and all. (Yeah, I know Sawyer and Montague aren't botanical, I just like the names. XD)
Thanks in advance for the help. I'm very indecisive. :/

:P those are fit names! Montague sounds cool... Hawthorne, maybe? Hmm they're all really cool names, but it's between Montague and Hawthorne for me. They sound more wood-ish ... :) People would think of Romeo and Juliet when they hear 'Montague' and, dispite how good it sounds for a wood faerie, they may say it's unoriginal as it's been used before. If you want to use it, use it. Who really cares that you nabbed it off Shakespeare 'cause Shakespeare might've nabbed it off somebody else.
I'd go with Hawthorne though..
Wait GIVE HER A LAST NAME! 'Hawthorne Montague' ...

I really like Hawthorne. Some botanical names that I really love that I never get to use, though, are:
Olive
Iris
Juniper
Sage
Amaryllis
Aislinn (I'm not sure if this is actually a botanical name, though...it's Celtic and pronounced "ash-ling", so I assume that it is, but I'm not sure. I actually DID get to use this one)!
So...yeah. That's about it.

Out of those names I would pick Montague. But I think the name Casimir would fit well.

Out of your choices I liked Dandelion and Hawthorne the best. They stand out the most. The other suggestions I have are:
Hazel
Nightshade
Primrose
Mayberry

I like Mahogany and Sawyer but I'd also go with something like Willow or Rose or something like that; but you should try and develop her personality a little bit before naming her it makes the process easier.

Mahogany sounds good.
Dandelion is adorable. :)
Montague is a boy's name, isn't it?
Anyway. I understand your indecisiveness completely, it took me weeks just choosing a permanent name for my lead character. :)
